It’s important that despite these challenges, mums don’t compromise their own health and well-being - after all, you can only be the best mother to your children when you are your best!

We are all shaped by beliefs that were programmed during our childhood by our parents, the schools we went to, as well as the culture, society, and media that we were exposed to. For example, growing up in certain cultures where self-sacrifice is strongly expected of mothers may cause women to feel selfish or even guilty for wanting to prioritise their own needs and wants. Mothers with this limiting belief tend to neglect self-care which often results in unhappiness, overwhelm and other imbalances in their well-being. 

The example above shows that our beliefs have the ability to consciously or unconsciously affect  us in our roles as mothers and wives by holding us back in different ways.
