A combat sport is a competitive contact sport that usually involves one-on-one combat. In many occasions, a contestant wins by scoring more points than the opponent or by disabling the opponent. The history of combat sports, such as grappling, wrestling, and boxing, seem to reach back even before the beginning of recorded history. This high imapct, high intensity sport is not only limited to men but open to women who aspire to unleash the inner beast in them!
This class encompasses the technical aspects of boxing with core strengthening exercises. Learn boxing skills such as correct form in throwing jabs, hooks and uppercuts, while working at an intense pace. Class is taught in 3-minute rounds with a warm up, cool down and core work. Push yourself to the limit and find the champion within you! This class is suitable for all fitness levels.
MMA stands for mixed martial arts. That is exactly what our MMA striking class represents. It is the fusion of striking martial arts put together into a hybrid dynamic striking style. We do not believe there is one “best” style. Some ideas and concepts that we use to build our style are taken from Boxing, Muay Thai, and some traditional martial arts. Partnering up and working on combos, defence, counters, footwork, and forms through drills and pad-work is the main channel of learning in class.
This class level is designed to introduce fundamental drills, basic offensive and defensive footwork, proper form of punches, kicks, and knees, as well as loads of cardio and conditioning. You’ll learn great techniques as well as blasting out rounds on the kick shields and basic partner drills. This is the class where you don’t have to be a fighter to look like one!
